Hi.

Happy Sunday, everyone! I’m keeping the newsletter brief this week but I’m excited to share something with you. First, it looks like we’ll be moving the community discussion forum away from Facebook soon. I’m excited to experiment with a couple of alternatives, and I’ll share more in coming weeks.

Second, I’ve received a lot of inbound queries around where to find sample term sheets for various funding structures. When I started looking into RBF and other structures in 2017, no library existed. I found mine by googling, and mostly by meeting with every investor I could find and asking them for sanitized docs.  Today there are a couple repositories that have useful templates. Toniic maintains a curated list of sample term sheets here. As I’ve shared with you before, there is no right answer to the question of “how should I structure my deals”; rather, in my experience the best way to answer that question is to figure out what you’re trying to accomplish and then build your structure from there with a few key principles in mind. That said, this catalog of term sheets is educational and I hope it will help folks quickly understand different approaches to funding entrepreneurs.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
